Göran Elmberger

Department of Pathology, Örebro University Hospital, Sweden

Dr. Göran Elmberger is currently working at the Department of Laboratory Medicine, Pathology and is the Medical Director and the Director of Anatomical Pathology at Örebro University Hospital. Dr. Elmberger had postgraduate training/residency training in clinical and anatomic pathology at Huddinge University Hospital, Karolinska Institute, Sweden and did his residency in Anatomic Pathology at Huddinge University Hospital and at UNMC, Omaha, Nebraska, USA.  Dr. Elmberger is also a Fellow at the International Academy of Cytology.

Dr. Elmberger did his Ph.D. work in experimental pathology and biochemistry at Huddinge University Hospital and Department of Biochemistry at Stockholm University, presently has 73 publications in per reviewed international journals and he has been a member of more than 9 pathology societies.

Cesar A. Moran

Department of Pathology MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, USA

Dr. Cesar A. Moran is a professor of pathology and currently the Director of Thoracic Pathology and Deputy Chair in the department of pathology at M D Anderson Cancer Center.  Dr. Moran has authored more than 300 publications in peer review journals, written more than 45 chapters in diverse textbooks, and has authored 6 textbooks on thoracic pathology. Dr. Moran is the Editor-in-Chief of Annals of Diagnostic Pathology and has lectured in multiple countries around the world. In addition, a classification on thymomas and a staging system for thymomas and thymic carcinoma carries his name as one of the authors of such schemas.

Vera Timmermans

Department of Pathology, Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen University Hospital, Denmark

Dr. Vera Timmermans have since 2013 been head of the department of Pathology at Rigshospitalet (https://www.rigshospitalet.dk/afdelinger-og-klinikker/diagnostisk/patologiafdelingen/Sider/default.aspx), Denmark’s pathology department for all patients in Denmark. The department has 40 consultants, and sees a mix of cases that encompasses all cancer types from all organs, transplantation pathology, prion disease and all inflammatory disease with pathology. The aim is to establish diagnostic activity at international standards, by use of international diagnostics networks. 

The department focusses on professionalism, content & continuing education, innovation & efficiency, building alliances & sharing of knowledge.
